PANIC ATTACK AND ANXIETY ATTACK SYMPTOMS
During an anxiety
attack or panic attack, some or all of the following symptoms
occur:
Physical
Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks / Panic Attacks
Racing or pounding
heart, chest pains, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea,
difficulty breathing, tingling or numbness in the hands, chills,
lump in the throat, blushing and trembling.
Emotional
Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks / Panic Attacks
Terror, Loss of a
sense of reality, fear of dying, feelings of 'losing control',
feelings of 'going crazy', irrational fear, feelings of needing
to escape, a sense that something unimaginably horrible is about
to happen.
PANIC DISORDER
SYMPTOMS
Some individuals that
suffer from anxiety attacks and panic attacks may also have a
more accelerated condition known as a 'panic disorder.' This
occurs as a result of worrying about having an anxiety attack or
panic attack in a public place and is characterized by the
following symptoms:
- People who develop
these panic-induced phobias will tend to avoid situations that
they fear will trigger a panic attack, and their lives may be
increasingly limited as a result.
- Work may suffer
because they can't travel or get to work on time.
- Relationships may
be strained or marred by conflict as panic attacks, or the
fear of them, rule the affected person and those close to
them.
- Sleep may be
disturbed because of panic attacks that occur at night,
causing the person to awaken in a state of terror
